Message from the President

JerryGusmano.jpgI trust that you all had a blessed Thanksgiving holiday, and I hope and pray that you all enjoy the time with family for those who celebrate Hannukah, Christmas, or Kwanzaa at this time of year.

As the month of December started, I remembered Pearl Harbor Day (December 7th) and was reminded of the fact that America has been the focus of attack by various nations throughout its 246-year history. It saddens me that our nation is now being torn from within. My hope is that we find a way to return to the glory that we once were as a nation and rise up as a beacon of hope to the world.

As the month closes, I want you to know how honored I was to be your president in 2022 and that you can look forward to great things in 2023 with Michele Patera at the helm. I’ve worked with Michele for several years at PMIGL and I can tell you that you will get great service and competent leadership as she works to better the chapter on your behalf. I will assume the role of your Past President and will support Michele throughout the year.

My best wishes for a prosperous New Year to all our members. I look forward to joining you at our 2023 events.

Very Respectfully yours,

Jerry Gusmano

1st Annual PMIGL Project Management Day of Service® - Apply by January 15!

WeCanHelp.jpgWe're Looking for PMs Willing to Volunteer for Nonprofits in Need of PM Assistance
On March 4, 2023, PMIGL will host its first annual Project Management Community Day of Service. Modeled after PM4Change, together, we will help nonprofits address their most critical projects and initiatives.

The Project Management Day of Service pairs each nonprofit with a team of two to four experienced project managers. Participants spend the day scoping a project to address a critical need of the nonprofit, leaving the nonprofit with an actionable plan. This is an extremely high-impact and meaningful way for project managers to give back to the community. To learn more and apply, visit the Outreach page. Hurry, applications close January 15!
